A New Outlook on Old-School Country! It was April of 2007 when the story began. Armed with passion and a desire to create, Jeremy Steding headed west to Austin, TX with an unmastered, unreleased album in tow (“Whiskey Songs and Prison Songs.”) Jeremy brought with him a deep admiration for great Texas music and the intense desire to be an integral part of it. Unique and individual, Jeremy has quickly become a staple in the Texas Music Scene, and those who know him best, truly believe in his future. “Auburn”, a single from Jeremy's debut CD, was highly acclaimed, and one of the very few songs to spend a great deal of time on the Texas Music Chart without the aid of a professional radio promoter. The powers that be are taking notice, and Jeremy is now working with Smith Music, bringing the audience a damn good alternative to mainstream music. Steding is working hard, hitting the pavement and building a rock-solid foundation with his songwriting and musicianship. “The Band of Bastards” accompany Jeremy during live performances. The musical talent shines through as does the unique friendship and commoraderie among them. “I am very blessed to be surrounded by great friends and outstanding musicians”, Jeremy states. Matt Winegardner, Todd Deatherage, Marc Curry and Nick Gardner combine to form a perfect platform for Steding's creative lyrics. The band is geared up and ready to tour extensively to promote the release of the brand new album, - “A Damn Good Ride”, which will be released September 22, 2009. A Damn Good Ride Some have suggested that Jeremy Steding’s sophomore album, “A Damn Good Ride”, is spawning a new genre in the Texas music scene. The songs will take you on an Alt-country drive in a Dodge Ram Spaceship with Johnny Cash riding shotgun. The album has a lot of fun exploring life's highs and lows with Jeremy’s unique passion and sense of humor. The title track “A Damn Good Ride” and “The Day to Day, Today” harness the strong musical influences of Johnny, Waylon and Merle as they peer into the daily life of the working man/musician with a distinctly retro feel. “Let the Boys Drink Whiskey” is a song that will capture you in it’s raw look at what we hope to leave behind in a world we all try to make our own. “Auburn” dances with the Faith, inspiration and persistence necessary to achieve one's dreams. Overall, the album focuses on Jeremy's motto - “Work Hard, Play Hard, and Enjoy the Ride.” Like the title of track 8 suggests, this collection should have a “One Way Ticket” to your car stereo. Master musicians, who have worked with everybody from George Strait to George Jones, lay a rock-solid foundation for Steding's rugged baritone voice. Jeremy Steding’s song-writing is unique, the melodies are irresistible, and the production (thanks to producers Doug DeForest and Big John Mills) is amazing. It can be said with musical certainty that Jeremy Steding’s new album is simply – A Damn Good Ride. The brand new album will hit I-tunes and store shelves on September 22, 2009. Prepare to feast your ears upon a new single this summer!
