With a voice as big as Texas, and guitar chops that would make Billy Gibbons proud, not to mention being one of the most prolific songwriters around; Brandon Jenkins latest CD “Faster Than A Stone”, his eighth release to date, shows once again why he’s at the forefront of the progressive country movement. His second release on Smith Music, this 10 song disc of guitar driven Americana, explores some of the different dimensions of Jenkins sound, weighing in heavily on his rock and blues influences. “I spent over a decade playing the honky-tonks and blues bars of Oklahoma, forging the sound that I have today” says Jenkins, and on this record it really shows.

The songs are strong, all original, including co-writes with Scott Hutchison, and Stoney LaRue, who also lends his voice to four of the tracks.

Since leaving his home in Tulsa for the heart of the Texas Music scene in Austin in 2003, Jenkins has had a phenomenal run of success on the Texas Music Chart, with six hit singles – “My Feet Don’t Touch The Ground”, “Down In Flames”, “The Whole World’s Gone Crazy”, “Finger On The Trigger”, “Why Did We Ever Say Goodbye”, and “Call Of The Road”.
